We finished up a container of Similac formula for Gas and Fussiness, and went back to just the Similac Advanced but that causes Amelia to have gas again and she was miserable all day yesterday.

I called our baby’s doctor to see if it would be okay to permanently have her drink the formula for gas and she said that was fine (i just wasn’t sure if it was only used when baby has gas, or for everyday/every meal use) but she also suggested to try a soy-based formula. So, I went out and bought Similac Soy.

Terrible. I tried it for 2 feedings and it only made her gas worse. She cried and cried and refused to eat anymore after those feedings. It made her spit up, then she threw up. I felt so bad for her that I went out at 1am and bought her the Similac for Gas and Fussiness formula that we had been using, and she has done so well on it.

So, our experience with different formulas have been rough, but I think we found one that works for baby girl. Plus, soy smells disgusting. What a waste of $30. Hoping toysrus will let me return it. My manager loves me, so he will probably let me. :P

Over the last 2 days, we have had a gassy baby. She’s been kicking her little legs like crazy (which is a sign of babies trying to get rid of gas built up in their tummies) and she did this A LOT while trying to sleep (along with making grunting sounds like trying to pass gas) which I think made her not rest well and of course made her fussy and grumpy.

Gripe water has helped wonders.

But! Daddy and I bought some Similac formula for “Gas and Fussiness”. She’s had it for each bottle feeding today, and she’s finally sleeping peacefully! No kicking. No fussiness. I recommend this formula if you’re having any issues!! A happy baby makes for a happy mommy! :)
